City Plan’s Real Estate Business Attracts

The Federal District Government (GDF) became one of the leading estate agents of capital.

With an average budget of 1.388 billion pesos (MDP) in the next two years to build 6.300 homes that expropriated land to continue the Structural High-Risk Program by the Housing Institute (INVI).

This is a scheme that will benefit 25.000 Bogota who now live in buildings with damaged structures and have incomes below to 4.7 minimum wages.

The idea is to relocate tenants in temporary homes while the GDF-income housing rehabilitated at risk. Then he offered a loan to buy a home whose costs vary between 250,000 and 450,000 pesos.

So far, 10 builders and developers have signed up for this project.

“The companies have secured the payment of their work and the placement of their homes,” says José Antonio Revah, director of INVI.

Urbi is one of the big firms that entered this business. And laid the foundation stone of the 2,500 homes to be built in 80 estates over the next two years.

“Urbi handles everything from site evaluation, the final design, licensing, work and to the deed,” says Enrique Costemalle, operating partner of the firm in Mexico City.

The case of the construction is different. Mesa Benjamin, director of Building Basalt, said that his participation is limited to finance part of the implementation and build the house, while the grants INVI property, also in charge of loan recovery.

Another business opportunity will be the construction of 8,500 houses for families living on the slopes of ravines, river beds or near a fault line. But the plan still has no budget.
