Congregation Ahavas Israel

Congregation Ahavas Israel, which meets at the newly renovated synagogue at the Lubavitch Center, holds services on Shabbat, holidays and weekday evenings. All are welcome to join us as we experience the peace of Shabbat, rejoice on Simchat Torah or read the Megillah on Purim. We believe that a Shul should be a place where everyone, including the very youngest, feels comfortable and can participate. Traditional Hebrew prayers are sung aloud and the Rabbi is always available to assist those who are not yet familiar with the service.

While we are deeply committed to Jewish observance, we do not require that you have that same level of commitment to attend, and our families come from a wide variety of backgrounds What we do share is a desire to learn and to grow in our experience of Judaism. Shabbat services are also an opportunity to share new insights into the Torah portion and to meet new friends over Kiddush. We are always happy to host the celebration of your child's Bar/Bat Mitzvah which we believe should be both enjoyed by all and affordable!

There are no mandatory membership dues at Ahavas Israel and all services are open to the entire Jewish community regardless of affiliation. However, many members choose to commit themselves to a monthly membership pledge of support.
